Hours – 40 (FT) or 20 -25 (PT)

Job description – 

As a member of service staff at the Church Inn you will be expected to take on a variety of  roles. On some shifts you will work mainly as a bartender, on others, you’ll be working more as a waiter/waitress, on some, you will be doing a little of each. Your main responsibility is to ensure each and everyone of our guests are happy and comfortable

What we have to ask you to have : 

  • The ability to work in the UK legally
  • Over 18
  • Flexible with working hours (you will be working weekend nights)
  • To have a grasp of the English language both spoken and written

You are responsible for the happiness, comfort and well being of all our guests. This means:

  • Ensuring all service areas are clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensuring all customer areas are clean, safe, and look great.
  • Ensuring the lights are set at the appropriate level
  • Ensuring the music is at the appropriate volume
  • Ensuring you are well presented
  • Ensuring the venue is open on time
  • Greeting all guest who come into the venue
  • Following all staff service procedures

We operate a neighbourhood bar style of service. This means we expect you to:

  • Be friendly, helpful, smiley, knowledgeable, approachable, chatty, positive, funny and polite.
  • Make recommendations to all customers based on their tastes
  • Make all customers feel at ease, welcome and at home
  • Go out of your way to accommodate customers requests
  • Verbally promote all of our events and specials across all Soul Food Venues
  • Understand the local area, various demographics and food and drinks offering

You are expected to always follow service standards, procedures and policies given to you by your managers. These may change at any time.  They include:

  • The staff uniform policy
  • Staff service standards
  • Cleaning rotas and checklists
  • Licensing and compliance requirements
  • Health and Safety requirment
  • EHO requirements
  • First aid policies

All members of staff are responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene of the building as a whole. At The Church Inn we aim to achieve a five star EHO rating.
